Thing 23

This was GREAT! I wish it did not stop with 23. More please!!!! One sentence to describe this ~ 23 FUN Things on a Stick! ~ that pretty much tells it all. THANK YOU for bringing this to us.

Thing 22

I believe that I would like to keep this going and I would use WebJunction Minnesota. This was a wonderful opportunity to learn. Thank you!

Thing 21

I am a member of the 23thingsonastick.ning. This site has caught my eye and is appealing to me, now if I can just find people I know. Because I have a tough time talking to strangers. At some point in time I would like to go back and look at the pictures, pictures are an interest of mine, it is fun to see what other people take pictures of on trips, etc.

Thing 20

This is a great way for libraries to communicate with people and the young people of today are big into MySpace and FaceBook.
I seemed to be drawn to the Hennepin Co. Library Myspace more than the Denver Public Library MySpace, I believe it had to do with the colors they picked.
I thought that is was very interesting how in the comments there were alot of authors, that is awsome! It was just like a big newsletter, just not in the mail or getting lost on someones desk. I give a big hand to those libraries that can do MySpace of FaceBook, to try to get to more people.

Thing 19

The podcast sites that I used were: Podcast.com and Yahoo Podcasts. I found that Yahoo Podcasts were the easiest for me. At this time I have not done a Podcast myself, but maybe sometime in the future.

Thing 18

This was interesting and fun to do. I thought this one was cute, and I know that everyone has seen cats do funny things. I thought this video almost covered it in whole. HAHAHA Enjoy a few laughs with this video.

Thing 17

ELM tools, I thought was interesting although I felt in my position, I really do not have a need for this at this time.

Thing 16

I really liked the Assignment Calculator & Research Project Calculator. I have a pre-teen with alot of homework and he does not always have the best organizational skills. This would help him and me alot. I will have to show a couple of teachers at his school that work with him. I really like this one, because it would better the skills of my children and their homework.

Thing 15

Online games and libraries~
I signed up for an account with "Second Life", the tour was interesting. I am not sure how it would fit in with a library though. But it might be a fun way to bring in more patrons.

Thing 14

The LibraryThing is very interesting and would be great to use when reading books on a regular basis. At this time it was hard for me to do the catalog part, because in this time of my life I spend my extra time with my second job and working with homework from my 3 children. This would be something that I would use when my children are a little more grown and independent.

Thing 13

Online Productivity Tools ~ this was very interesting.
I customized a home page - My Yahoo, this feature is nice, because I can see the information that interests me.
I looked at the different calendars, but I find that I am just not on the computer enough after work, to make something like this work for me at this point.
I thought that the "Remember the Milk" tool was neat, and would be something that I would use at some point in life when I was a little more dependent on electronics. I dont have a cell phone, no internet at home, no IPOD, etc.
In the Backpack features, I like the group calendar, this would be a wonderful feature to have as a Frontline person in the administration office of a library system.

Thing 12

I liked the Newsvine Home Page and the Mixx Home Page, I thought that their set up was good and the sites were easy to get around. I think that these tools could be a productivity enhancer but could also be a detractor. It would depend on the use and the information. I did read a story after seeing it on Newsvine. I find it interesting that so many sites can report the same thing, but say it different.

Thing 11

This is different, it takes some getting use to it. I think after using it for awhile, I would be more comfortable. Kinda like a break-in a new pair of shoes. HAHAHAHA

Thing 10

Wiki's are very interesting. I think this would help in the updating of many different documents, including policies & procedures. It would also help in coordinating events, when the planning team members are in several different locations acrossed a 7-county area.

Thing 9

Online Collaboration Tools ~ wow! This would help with the documents that have input by a few people and corrections, drafts, and reviews by the same people but yet another person has to print and make sure everything is in line.

Thing 8

I tried the Mosaic Maker, it was so much fun, to put an entire trip together in one look. I could see myself using this more, for sending pictures to friends and family.

Thing 7

This is very interesting, so many good ways to communicate with co-workers in a large regional system.
